::Third Anniversary of “La Vina Comunidad Cristiana”

Three years ago , November 22nd of 2002, a group of five marriages started from the scratch a church planting here in Managua city under the blessings of The Vineyard, this small group of 10 to 19 people became in 50 people and then multiplied in three home groups. In March 6th, 2003 , Dave Pardee , Roy Conwell and their team blessed this Church Plant and opened the doors to the Vineyard family officialy. We celebrated this Sunday morning the Abundantly grace and favor of God over these years. Now We are a small church of 100 average, but we are dreamers , we dreams with Vineyard churches spread in the country, come and join us in this beautiful dream!

Update from Nicaragua from Heidi Hohn

I haven’t had time to get on the internet until today, yesterday lunch went too long. Today we are in Grenada for lunch and stuff. This morning we were at a community basketball court and we are painting their cement seats, then we are going back later to put on another coat and the boys are playing basketball with a bunch of guys from the neighborhood this evening. The games are fun, we did it in Managua already and we drew a big croud with drinks and basketball and music. I am having such a good time! I really miss home and am getting a bit fed up with the bugs, but I am enjoying myself. God is doing awesome things down here and I am excited to tell you everything we have been doing, but I don’t really want to type it all now. :)
I like Nicaragua a lot. The rest of the trip will go quick I bet, and I am really excited for church tomorrow. After church we get to go to pizza with the youth from La Vina and some time the beach with them too. That should be a lot of fun.

::Body Life::

I remember in the 1980´s while I was a teenager studying theology in a Bible Institute in Managua, I read a nice book Called “The Church Rises” written by the late Ray C. Stedman, Senior Pastor of “Peninsula Bible Church” in CA. He wrote about the New Testament concepts of the Body Life, and also he described a particular mid-week service called “Body Life Service” where his church tried to exercise the spiritual gifts and building one another. Well I read about a particular incident when a young man asked for prayer: -Please pray for I can get a car for improve my new job”, so an old lady after he finished said to him, “-Hey, I have two cars, and this is the keys of one of them , if you want it you get it!” People applaused the wonderful and inmediately providence of God through His Family.

I can´t imagine I could see something like that in our Fellowship, well let me tell you about:
Leonardo and Urania are a faithful marriage in La Viña, Urania growth in a Christian Home, and she reconciliated with God in our church, and Leonardo became a Christian and baptized in La Viña too. They are interns in the home groups of Jose Tomas, well the houseowner of Leonardo asked to leave in two months recently, He and his family has been praying and asking for prayer for a House for rent or for buy, they are a very poor family, in spite he got a BA in Economy -many professional people in Nicaragua are under-employeed- he currently works in a Distribution Company of Cigarrettes that belongs to Tobacco British Co., as a Truck dispatcher, it´s a very basic and low incomes job.
Well, last Sunday March 13th, at the end of the service Leonardo and Urania asked for praying for their situation, so another marriage Denis and Jazmina taked the microphone and told them that they own a good piece of Land and they are giving this land to them for use it for Free, so they can live there without pay rent until they can get their own home.

Halleluia!!! All the Church risen in Joy and applaused the love of God expressed to this family trough another family in the church! God answered our prayers! That´s Body Life! Now I really know what Ray C. Stedman was talking about
;)

I will post later pictures of both marriages.
